Moria

This Moria print, like the Nazgul print, was created by using a steel etching needle to etch into a plexiglas plate. After the etching was complete, ink was smeared onto the plate to fill the etched areas. Once the inking step was complete, a cloth was used to wipe ink away from the negative areas. The prepared plate was then attached to a textured and pre-soaked piece of paper and sent through a printing press. The imagery is of Moria, or Khazad-dûm – The Dwarrowdelf – of the Longbeards that is portrayed in The Lord of The Rings. It is here that Durin’s Bane, the Balrog, was unearthed while the Dwarves delved ever deeper in their search for Mithril. You should know the rest of the story.
